Funnel-as-Product: How HIPnation Drove +28% Leads

HIPnation is a membership-medicine group. Inbound patients were getting lost between the phone, the inbox and the EHR. We rebuilt the funnel as a product. Elation and Hint EHR integrations. A Dialpad comms hub. Deterministic patient-to-conversation linkage. Every inbound is acknowledged in under a minute, booked inside the conversation, and the numbers they optimize against are true. The result is +28% patient leads, Feb to Jul 2026.

I write this for the mid-market operator and the GTM leader who still treats conversion as a campaign wrapped around a website.

What does it mean to treat the funnel as a product?

A product has an owner. A product has an SLA. A product gets iterated because someone is accountable for the surface a person actually touches.

A funnel that lives in a deck, a tag, and three inboxes does not have those. It has hope that the next inbound finds a human before the human gives up.

The surface I mean is specific. First signal to a booked conversation. A record that is the same person the whole way. An owner who can change the surface when the handoff fails. An acknowledgment SLA you can time. An iteration loop that uses numbers you trust.

Software integration services are how the tools get connected. The product decision comes first. You decide the funnel is the thing you ship. Then you wire the systems to that surface. Integration without an owner is a pile of pipes.

Where was HIPnation losing patients?

HIPnation is a membership-medicine group. Healthcare. Inbound patients were falling between the phone, the inbox and the EHR.

The call lands in one place. The message lands in another. The chart lives in a third. Each system can look finished. None of them, alone, can say this person was acknowledged and booked.

That is a product gap. It is not a content gap. Writing more pages does not close the space between the phone, the inbox and the record.

What did the rebuild actually ship?

We rebuilt the funnel as product.

Elation and Hint on the EHR side. A Dialpad comms hub for the conversation. Deterministic patient-to-conversation linkage so the inbound, the thread, and the patient are one chain.

The operating rules on that surface are the ones I will repeat, because they are the whole design. Every inbound is acknowledged in under a minute. It is booked inside the conversation. The numbers they optimize against are true, because the linkage is deterministic. You are not guessing which call belongs to which chart.

Custom software for mid-market teams is the cousin when the off-the-shelf handoff is the leak. This file is narrower. The object is the patient funnel.

AI integration services describe connecting the systems a company already runs, around one workflow, with a result you can name. HIPnation's version of that sentence is concrete. Elation. Hint. Dialpad. One linkage from patient to conversation.

I will not add a headcount, a revenue line, or a quote I do not have. The proof in this file is the funnel and the lead result.

What does +28% leads measure?

+28% patient leads. Feb to Jul 2026.

Same phrase, either way you say it. +28% leads. +28% patient leads. The window is Feb to Jul 2026. The source is the funnel we rebuilt, and the signal integrity under it. Acknowledgment in under a minute. Booking inside the conversation. Numbers that stay true because the patient and the conversation are linked.

I keep the claim that small on purpose. A bigger story would be a story I made up.

How is a conversion system different from SEO-as-identity?

Mid-market GTM teams sometimes make SEO the identity of the growth system. Rankings become the product. The funnel stays a form and a shared inbox. The team reports position. The operator still cannot say whether yesterday's inbound was acknowledged.

A conversion system is a different design. The product is the path from inbound to a booked conversation. It has an owner. It has an SLA. It has a record you can iterate. The website can support that path. The website is not a substitute for it.

HIPnation's +28% patient leads came from that design. Phone. Inbox. EHR. The funnel as the product. Signal integrity so the number is a number.

Search rankings, local search, and map listings are a different engagement. They are not this file. If you read +28% leads as a ranking result, you read the wrong work.

A software discovery workshop is where a team names the workflow before it builds. Use that when you are still arguing about the surface. A ranking report will not name the owner of the funnel.

What should a GTM leader take into the next meeting?

I take five checks into the operating meeting. Then I stop.

  • Who owns the funnel as a product surface, by name
  • What the acknowledgment SLA is, and whether inbound is actually acknowledged in under a minute
  • Whether booking happens inside the conversation
  • Whether the person is linked deterministically to that conversation
  • Whether the numbers you optimize against are true

If those are clean, iteration is a real next step. If they are not clean, another narrative about visibility does not close the gap between the phone, the inbox and the system of record.

I run this as owner-led work. Same operator from the leak to the funnel you can measure.

If you lead GTM at a mid-market company and inbound dies between the phone, the inbox and the system of record, start in chat. Bring the three systems and the person who still knows where a lead goes. I will sit with both. Seats that need the longer motion can read engagements.

Gold-on-black patient-funnel diagram. Hook: FUNNEL IS THE PRODUCT. Chain: phone, inbox, and EHR as the leak, then the funnel as product with Elation and Hint, Dialpad, and patient-to-conversation linkage, then acknowledgment in under a minute, booked inside the conversation, and numbers that are true. Result: +28% leads, Feb to Jul 2026.

The diagram is the finding. Three places a patient can fall. One product surface. Under a minute. Booked in the conversation. Numbers that are true. Then +28% leads.

What do I take into the next operating meeting?

The owner. The SLA. The booking inside the conversation. The linkage. Whether the number is true.

If those are named, you have a funnel you can run. If they are not named, keep the campaign budget where it is. A ranking story will not acknowledge the patient.

Frequently asked questions

What does it mean to treat the funnel as a product?

A funnel-as-product has an owner, an SLA, and an iteration loop. It is the surface a person actually touches, from the first inbound to a booked conversation, with a record that matches that person. A slide, a tag, and a shared inbox are not that surface.

What was HIPnation losing before the funnel rebuild?

HIPnation is a membership-medicine group in healthcare. Inbound patients were getting lost between the phone, the inbox and the EHR. Each system could look complete and still drop the person in the gap.

What did the HIPnation funnel rebuild include?

We rebuilt the funnel as a product with Elation and Hint EHR integrations, a Dialpad comms hub, and deterministic patient-to-conversation linkage. Every inbound is acknowledged in under a minute, booked inside the conversation, and the numbers they optimize against are true.

Where did the +28% leads come from?

+28% patient leads, Feb to Jul 2026, came from that funnel and from the signal integrity under it. The work is a conversion system. It is a patient funnel. Search rankings, local search, and map listings are a different job, and they are not this result.
