AI Automation ROI Calculator
Model the hours and dollars you get back by automating one repetitive process. Use your real request volume and wage rates. When the monthly benefit is clear, the Starter Workflow Pilot ships one production workflow in 7 business days. Pricing depends on scope; talk to us.
This calculator is a planning tool, not a guarantee. It multiplies your inputs (volume, minutes per task, wage, automation coverage, conversion lift) into monthly savings and payback estimates so you can decide whether a pilot is worth it.
How this calculator works
This page is an automation ROI calculator. It is also the AI ROI calculator for one process: your request volume, minutes, wage, automation share, conversion rates, and deal value. Automation ROI here is the annual return on a fixed setup cost after a fixed monthly price. Change an input and the figures on the right follow the same steps. Nothing on this page is a client result.
Formula
- Current monthly cost. Monthly requests times minutes per request, divided by 60, times the hourly wage.
- Monthly time savings. Monthly requests times the automation share, times minutes per request, divided by 60, times the hourly wage. Only that share is treated as time saved.
- Monthly revenue increase. Monthly requests times the gap between the improved conversion rate and the current conversion rate, times average deal value. This uses every request, not only the automated ones.
- Total monthly benefit. Time savings plus the revenue increase.
- Net benefit. Total monthly benefit minus $100. The $100 is the monthly ATC Please price hardcoded in the calculator.
- Annual ROI. Net benefit times 12, minus the $5,000 setup, divided by that $5,000 setup, times 100. The setup is hardcoded the same way.
- Months to payback. The $5,000 setup divided by monthly net benefit.
Assumptions
- Time savings count only the automated share of requests. The conversion change counts every monthly request, including ones that stay manual.
- The form reads whole numbers. A decimal typed into a field is cut off before the math.
- The automation control runs from 30% to 90% in steps of 5. It starts at 70%.
- Setup stays $5,000 and the monthly price stays $100. The calculator labels those ATC Please prices. Editing the form does not change them.
- Displayed dollars and the annual ROI percentage are rounded to the nearest whole number. Payback is rounded to one decimal place. Annual ROI and payback use the unrounded monthly benefit, then round at the end. They are not recomputed from the rounded dollar lines.
- If monthly net benefit is zero, payback divides by zero. If net benefit is negative, annual ROI and payback are negative. The formula does not substitute a floor.
Worked example with the default inputs
The form opens at 50 service requests a month, 15 minutes per request, a $25 hourly wage, 70% of requests automated, conversion from 15% to 25%, and a $500 average deal value.
- Current monthly cost. (50 times 15) divided by 60 is 12.5 hours. 12.5 times $25 is $312.50. The screen rounds that to $313.
- Monthly time savings. 50 times 70% is 35 automated requests. (35 times 15) divided by 60 is 8.75 hours. 8.75 times $25 is $218.75. The screen rounds that to $219.
- Monthly revenue increase. 50 times (25% minus 15%) is 5 additional conversions. 5 times $500 is $2,500. The screen shows $2,500.
- Total monthly benefit. $218.75 plus $2,500 is $2,718.75. The screen rounds that to $2,719.
- Net benefit. $2,718.75 minus the $100 monthly price is $2,618.75. That net figure is not its own line on the screen.
- Annual ROI. $2,618.75 times 12 is $31,425. ($31,425 minus $5,000) divided by $5,000, times 100, is 528.5%. The screen rounds that to 529%.
- Months to payback. $5,000 divided by $2,618.75 is 1.909 months. The screen rounds that to 1.9.
FAQ
What does this automation ROI calculator measure?
It turns your inputs into current monthly labor cost, monthly time savings, monthly revenue from a conversion-rate change, total monthly benefit, annual ROI, and months to payback. It is a planning model, not a quote and not a client result.
What is an AI ROI calculator on this page?
The same model. An AI ROI calculator here means the share of requests you mark as automated, the wage on the hours that share saves, and the revenue change from the conversion rates you type. It does not pull a benchmark from another company.
How is automation ROI calculated?
Monthly benefit is time savings plus the revenue change. Net benefit is that monthly benefit minus $100. Annual net benefit is net benefit times 12. Automation ROI is (annual net benefit minus the $5,000 setup) divided by the $5,000 setup, times 100. The $100 a month and the $5,000 setup are the ATC Please prices hardcoded in the calculator.
What assumptions should I not miss?
Time savings use only the share of requests you mark as automated. The conversion change uses every monthly request, not only the automated ones. Inputs are whole numbers. The automation control runs from 30% to 90% in steps of 5 and starts at 70%. Displayed dollars and the annual ROI percentage are rounded to the nearest whole number. Payback is rounded to one decimal place. Annual ROI and payback use the unrounded monthly benefit, then round at the end.
What do the default inputs return?
The form starts at 50 requests a month, 15 minutes each, a $25 wage, 70% automated, conversion from 15% to 25%, and a $500 average deal. With the built-in $5,000 setup and $100 a month, the screen shows $313 current monthly cost, $219 monthly time savings, $2,500 monthly revenue increase, $2,719 total monthly benefit, 529% annual ROI, and 1.9 months to payback.
